The 2008 Mitsubishi Galant offers an outstanding value in the midsized sedan marketplace with an impressive inventory of desirable features available throughout the entire trim lineup.
For 2008 -- to simplify ordering and to make it easier -- the GTS has been removed from the lineup, while its feature content will be spread throughout remaining trim levels.
All of the features of the Galant lineup will still be found in the remaining three models: the base DE, the more upscale ES, and top-of-the-line Ralliart.
Power for the two lower trim models, DE and ES, is provided by a 162 horsepower, 2.4-liter, SOHC, 16-valve with the Mitsubishi Innovative Valve Timing Electronic Control system. The DE engine connects to a four-speed automatic transmission, while the ES mates to a four-speed Sportronic automatic gearbox, with manual shift capability.
The flagship Galant Ralliart draws its motive force from a 3.8-liter SOHC 24-valve V6 engine that delivers 258 horsepower, and drives the front wheels through a five speed Sportronic automatic transmission.
In addition to the Galant's highly acclaimed safety features, every Galant (including DE) will now provide a Tire Pressure Monitoring System as standard equipment.
