BMW's 2010 5 Series Sedan maintains its place at the forefront of the mid-size luxury class. The 550i continues to headline the 5 Series for those with a desire for the unmistakable performance of a V8 sport sedan.
For 2010, the BMW 5 Series will experience two significant changes: the addition of BMW's 4th-generation iDrive system on vehicles equipped with the optional on-board Navigation system and the new availability of an M Sport Package to create an unmistakable enthusiast attitude for most 5 Series models.
The 2010 5 Series models feature the 230-horsepower iteration of BMW's remarkable aluminum/magnesium composite inline-6 engine, which appears in the 528i and 528i xDrive sedans; and the 300-horsepower twin-turbo inline-6 that appears in the 535i and 535i xDrive sedans. The 550i sedan provides the instantaneous power and performance of BMW's 360-horsepower 4.8-liter V-8 engine.
Technological features flourish throughout the 2010 5 Series. Among these are BMW's Lane Departure Warning system and Active Cruise Control.
All 5 Series models now offer the availability of an M Sport Package that includes an Anthracite headliner, an exterior aerodynamic package with Shadowline trim, and M-specific wheels, door sills, footrest, gearshift lever, and steering wheel. Some M exterior colors are also available on vehicles with the M Sport Package.
