For 2008, the Dodge Nitro adds a Trailer Sway Control System and ParkSense Rear Park Assist System to its long list of safety and security features. Brilliant Black, Light Graystone and Modern Blue are new exterior color options for the 2008 model year. The performance-oriented, 4.0-liter, single-overhead-cam V-6 in the Nitro R/T provides 260 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 265 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,200 rpm. It is an enhanced version of the 3.5-liter engine used in prior Chrysler Group vehicles. The 3.7-liter V-6 produces 210 horsepower at 5,200 rpm and 235 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,000 rpm.
