Subaru introduces a new turbocharged Impreza 2.5GT for 2009. The Impreza and new Impreza 2.5GT models are available in 4-Door sedan and 5-Door models. As on all Subaru models, Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive is standard equipment.

Powered by a 224-horsepower turbocharged intercooled engine teamed to a standard 4-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission with SPORTSHIFT, the 2009 Impreza 2.5GT delivers powerful performance. The turbo engine produces 226 lb.-ft. of peak torque at a low 2,800 rpm for outstanding response in all types of driving. Sport-tuned suspension and standard 17-inch alloy wheels ensure both agile handling and compliant everyday ride quality.

The 2.5GT comes with a power glass moonroof and fog lights. The sporty cockpit is equipped with numerous luxury amenities. Electroluminescent instrument panel gauges were inspired by those in the high-performance Impreza WRX and WRX STI models. The leather-wrapped steering wheel, which tilts and telescopes, integrates switches for cruise control and the audio system.

For 2009, the Vehicle Dynamics Control stability and traction control system and the Brake Assist safety feature are now standard across the Impreza line.
