The 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix lineup features the base model and the performance-minded Grand Prix GXP. The GT model has been discontinued.
The base Grand Prix is powered by the a 3.8-liter V-6, producing 200 horsepower. The 303-horsepower GXP is equipped with a 5.3-liter V-8. The suspension setup is a four-wheel independent design with MacPherson struts.
Grand Prix interiors are outfitted with standard cloth seating. Leather surfaces are available as an option. Climate control and HVAC outlets for the rear seat, two power outlets, rear reading lamps, electronic cruise control, a driver information center, remote keyless entry, power programmable door locks and ample interior storage are all standard fare.
An AM/FM/CD player is the standard audio offering. The GXP model features an upgraded nine-speaker Monsoon system. Both models offer an additional range of AM/FM stereos with CD/MP3, navigation and a six-CD changer.
Standard 60/40 split-folding rear seats, a rear seat pass-through and an extra-wide trunk opening make it easy to carry large objects. Items as long as 9 feet can be accommodated with the trunk closed (when the available fold-flat front passenger seat is used). New exterior colors include Gold Mist Metallic, Dark Mocha Metallic and Dark Slate Metallic.
